You have the ultimate power, David. My fingers are starting to scar from the bite marks.

Another bump... please, heed the advice in the first message of this thread.

I believe, if I read the first post correctly, that David did not say he would end the forum, but that he would "push the button" on the troublemakers.

"As for those here to stir up trouble, pick fights, say negative things knowing full well you are upsetting people, let me remind you that we can ban you based on your e-mail address(es) and your IP address(es). You are welcome to remain here and enjoy the company of good people engaged in harmless conversation, or you can exit stage right. As this is the second time I have had to come back, please consider this a very fair warning. If I get any more complaints, I am pushing the button."

Am I correct in this interpretation? If so, I see no reason for the positive, considerate posters to worry. I think David sees the others for what they are, and imagine they won't be long for this forum.

You are correct, Janis. As he said, he gave fair warning.

My reason for bumping the thread has nothing to do with any worry that the forum is going to go away. Rather, I am trying to remind people of David's advice in the first paragraph of his message, i.e. to not respond to certain posts and/or make use of the ignore button.

Gotcha, kec, just wanted to take some of the worry away from the "good guys". Of course, ignoring is the way to go.
Now, I must get to the business at hand...I have still not put away my summer clothes and taken out most of the winter ones. Wishful thinking on my part, but I guess it's not meant to be. See y'all later.

LOL... I know the feeling! When I did that the beginning of the month, it was very cold here. Now the temps have been on the milder side and it's been too warm to wear most of what's in my closet!

I'm kinda hesitant to put some of my clothes away because there were times when the temp. has shot up to 60-70 degrees, kinda insane for the second half of November!

LUCKY!!!

I'm stuck in "Cowboy Country" Razz and don't get to see near enough of my beloved Seahawks....and now that you mention it...I don't get to evah completely put away my summer clothes as Texas can go from 40 to 80 degrees within a week Roll Eyes A nice cold winter would be a treat for this not-quite-a-Texan!

Stace-who is being very good about not responding to those other comments... Wink

My apologies for the misunderstanding in my original post - when I said “pushing the button”, I meant pushing the BANNING button, not turning off the forum – I now understand why I received so many e-mails asking me not to shut the forum down (I’ll admit, I thought some of you were being a bit over-dramatic – but now I see why – it was totally my fault).

Anyhow, to the point in question - even though the show is long since over, I still believe that we should of respectful of Hugh, his family, his colleagues and their privacy. If people want to focus on the nasty chat, go start another forum board elsewhere.

The final warning has been sent to the posters in question. I have tried to be as polite and reasonable as possible, (I’ve always dealt with these issues in a non-traditional manner to which some here don’t appreciate - but I really like to give people the chance to straighten out), but now, I really don’t have time for it anymore. I’m banning them upon the very next malicious remark as I think everyone has made it clear that it incessant harping on old, boring gossip, libel and cruel statements meant to hurt are simply not welcome here. Sorry – I did my best.

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving to all. Smile
