Oh no, I hate Vegas. And if you thought these tickets were expensive, multiply times 4 or 5. Oh well, you know we'll all be there.

Sheesh! I´d rather have him in....shall we say....London e.g.? Way closer to home....okay, now that´s selfish
![]() He always stated that he wouldn´t want to stay away from the stage for too long, so if he really plans on doing this Vegas thing - well, go for it! |

Vegas ? I hopr not. No one usually goes to Vegas until they need to get back into the spotlight. Hug doesn't need that, he already in the spotlight.

Blimey! Vegas??? Kleandra, I'm with you - come to London HUGE!!!!

And to think, I lauded his wonderful "Old Black Magic" performance during commercial break at Radio City as done with "all the aplomb of a Vegas headliner."
Be careful what you write. It may come true. Hey, Hugh--don't forget Atlantic City! Much closer to your beloved NYC! Ellen |

I don't know the truth to this article, but I read about it somewhere else and thought it was interesting. I would love to see him on stage in a one man show, but in NYC.
|
||||

I would absolutely LOVE to see him but I'm all the way on the other side of the world in Singapore. *cries* =\ At least he does perform in NYC. Extremely slim chances of him coming down to Asia at all. T.T

Personally, I'd take the news with a grain of salt as with all publications. Since he's due to start X-Men III filming in June 2005. Sounds like a wish list to me. But...since I go to Vegas twice a year and in the future it does happen, well--more reason for me to go!

I used to say I would only go to Vegas if they had the Beatles and God on a double bill. Then the Beatles broke up, etc etc. So far, I've kept my vow except for a 30 minute layover once, but I nevah got off de plane.
However, for Hugh... Bert |

It's Vegas, Baby, Vegas?!
I know its ad slogan is What Happens Here Stays Here. But I'll bet those of us who can travel there will blab plenty, should Hugh saunter off to Sin City. Which is now Family City, come to think of it, except for certain downtown hot spots. Still, if the Wynn rumors are true, I'm hoping for Atlantic City instead. Hey--he could host the Miss America pageant while he's there! He'd be perfect! Only I'd be singing to my TV, "There HE is...." Ellen |

This screams a bit too much Celine Dion for me to believe.
Though if my dad ever heads back for MAGIC (big textiles trade show in Vegas) I got an excuse to go lmao. |

No, no, GODS NO! It's so cheeseball!
|

Actually, the big Vegas shows are not necessarilt cheesey any more. This would be a chance for Hugh to hone his singing and get seen by West Coast types who might want to cast him in - say - a movie musical. It's also a chance to do Broadway type shows without a one year committment. Vegas shows often run one or two weeks - or less - and so he wouldn't have to wear himself to the bone (sorry for the pun) to get a live singing gig.
And besides, I live in San Diego, one six hour drive away. Wooo Hooo!! Cricket |

How am I going to explain to my husband, after years of not ever wanting to go to Vegas, that I want to plan a trip all of a sudden? WAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
|
||||
|
Now all we have to do is convince his publicist that we all need to be on a mailing ist to keep us posted of where he will be and when. And of course we'll need early notice to ensure we get cheap travel, have time to save up our pennies and time to have new T-shirts printed. Will we still be the Ozalots? Maybe the "Hughies" or the "Jackettes!"

Actually, you're right-Vegas production shows with name stars are not cheesy anymore. Case in point: Michael Crawford. He got critisized very badly when plans were announced for EFX! at the MGM Grand in 1995. It was a 30 million dollar production and I subsequently saw the show 3 times. And let me tell you, there was nothing cheesy about and Michael did silence his critics on that score. So, suffice to say, IF Hugh does take that plunge, you can bet it'll be a classy production show not some lounge act.

And shall I add my two cents worth here? Yes, I shall.
Vegas...I'm sure for those of us who haven't been and experienced it for ourselves it is just about glitz and money and Elvis stereotypes. Perhaps those of you who have other Las Vegas experiences (Didn't Cirque de Soleil play there?) are correct to think that his show would have some class...However, we're talkin' VEGAS here people. What is the value of him doing a one or two week stint in a one man show (although, it is true he has mentioned more than once that it is a dream of his to create such an act)? He has movies to make. (Isn't he being optioned for the Henry VIII role in "All the Wives of Me"? He just won a Tony award. He has options. Vegas is often viewed as a venue for those who have enjoyed success in the past. Capisce? And the question begs to be asked...wouldn't he be at great risk of being eaten by a lion? Somebody convince me this is a good idea. I feel for those in the west who would benefit greatly from his presence (hate to be a star hog). Hugh, buddy, have you thought his out? eegee |

BLECK!Vegas?! I love Hugh but if he goes Vegas, then he needs a new Agent. Sorry, Folks.
|

Okay, it's still just a rumor yet I can't even wait!!! After the Tony's, there is no doubt this guy couldn't do a one-man show. How great would it be? Now that I think of it, I'd rather see him being Hugh, playing himself, than him in any movie or musical playing in any role, no matter how good it was. I have watched so many of his interviews since my new-found interest and re-played my tivo'd copy of the Tony's a zillion times and he is just so amazing. It's almost like I'm in a spell or something. I have this forum up all day at work and check it constantly for updates. I have never had an interest in a celeb like this before. Weird. I'm starting to scare myself. LOL. Anyone else feel this way?
Why do I feel this way and why do I think he would be good in a Vegas one-man show? Well, let's just evaluate, shall we? I feel the need to list his great qualities. Hugh has it all, but to be specific, he has: 1. Class (first and foremost, his most admirable quality) 2. Singing talent 3. Dancing talent 4. Acting talent 5. A magnetic personality 6. A quick wit 7. Dashingly-good looks 8. Intelligence 9. A big, warm smile 10. Charisma 11. Charm 12. Grace 13. A model's body 14. Great style 15. Confidence and last, simply 16. just a way about him that is so refreshing and approachable and likable that he has turned this happily-married, 42 year-old woman for the first time in her life into a gushing, obsessive devoted "fan" in every sense of the word. There is no other entertainer that has all these qualities that I can think of. So that's why we're all so smitten, I guess. Elvis had his nutty fans. Hugh has the Ozalots. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this remarkable man. (However, scheming behind hubby's back to get back to NY to see him is going to be hard enough, but if Vegas comes through...? Boy, oh boy from Oz, that's a whole other story on the other side of the country. Cha ching!!!) |
