Word is he'll be Jay's guest on March 16, along with Betty White.

Maybe she'll come on to him. Smile

Hooray!

Well Hugh is the only reason I'd watch the show! He's so loyal to his friends! I love Betty White and would love to see her flirt with Hugh so that could be fun.

While I'm not a fan of Conan, I didn't like that whole mess at all and even though he got a lot of money, he basically go screwed! Just my opinion.

I'm sticking with Craig. The whole late night thing got ugly and nasty but Craig is still bloody Craig and better than ever.

But Betty is always a riot. And I'll watch it for Hugh. Now going to the taping would be fun. It is my day off. Wishful thinking I know.

As always, for overseas fans, we hope it will turn up on YouTube Wink

Aren't Hugh and Deb supposed to chair a benefit for Worldwide Orphans in LA on March 18?

I hope Hugh will share with us what his participation in SELMA will be -- that sounds like it is going to be a high-profile project.

And updates on his new projects...and who knows, he might even show off his singing skills in Chinese Big Grin

All the hate is unfounded IMO. I don't think any of us had inside information on how the late night fiasco really went down.

I agree. There could be more to the story, but the bottom line is that NBC doesn't kowtow to anyone, be he Leno, Conan or whoever. Conan had lost the 11:35 p.m. ratings war, didn't agree to a 30-minute delay to his show, and preferred to walk. Leno was offered his old job back, which IMO he lost solely to age discrimination. He'd have been a fool not to accept NBC's offer.

In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing Hugh, no matter whose show he's on.

Musical Mutant, just wondering who "Craig" is???

I wouldn't be so hard on Jay Leno. Frankly, he was the very FIRST person to get screwed in the whole fiasco. About two years ago, despite still being the ratings champ, NBC asked him to let Conan take over the Tonight Show. NBC was greedy, thinking that they needed to get the younger guy in there in order to secure the future of the network. Jay reluctantly agreed, but he was not happy about it. Sadly, the 10:00PM experiment didn't work. But Conan's ratings were not good. Letterman consistently beat him, but Letterman usually did NOT beat Jay. Jay Leno didn't screw Conan...NBC screwed both Jay and Conan.

Team Conan all the way for me. Cool

Hugh was the only one I was willing to break the Leno-ban in my house for. Just wish I didn't have to break it so soon.

Can't stand him. NBC screwed everyone, but he had the opportunity to do the noble thing and he did the selfish thing instead. It just wasn't right.

But I'm going to take a cue from you and make those my final words on that subject! (and I love Craig too!) Wink

And even apart from the whole Conan-saga, I was a little annoyed with him when Hugh was on the 10pm show and he had to play that whole cell-phone video from ASR. I know they're friends, but Hugh did look less than thrilled about having to sit through that.

Seriously...they raised $1.5 million selling their undershirts for charity after the show, wouldn't that have been a more fun story to talk about?

Ugh, Jay....

Well, whether or not Jay stepped aside wasn't going to change the fact that Conan wasn't cutting it on the Tonight Show (ratings wise, that is), although an argument can be made that he wasn't given enough time to build an audience. Also, from my understanding Conan was eventually gonna be dropped by NBC whether or not Jay agreed to return to the Tonight Show. Again, Conan was getting killed in the time slot, whereas Jay in the same time slot was a ratings winner. So nothing would be gained by anyone if Jay "stepped aside". I really like Conan...he's a great comedy writer and an interesting guy. But I also think that Leno has been unfairly demonized. If any of you saw Jay's recent interview on Oprah, the situation is a bit clearer. There's been alot of misinformation and conjecture in the press. Just my 2 cents.

I love Craig Ferguson too...very funny! Perhaps he'd be an eventual candidate to take over the Tonight Show one day. At first I thought "Craig" referred to Craig Kilbourne. I don't think his show is on anymore.

Love Craig. Enjoyed Conan when I saw his show live (2 times) but hated it at the 11:30 time slot. Leno bashing is totally unfair - what's the point? The villian is NBC. They also did a lousy job on the Olympics.

I agree that Leno bashing is totally unfair. You need to have seen the Oprah interview with Jay as Krissy said. In my opinion, if NBC had wanted Conan to suceed, then they never should have put Jay Leno at 10pm every night! The whole thing was a fiasco. Jay never should have been asked to step down in the first place.

Confused What did NBC do so bad with the Olympics?

Craig is miles above any of the other late night hosts, though I must say I enjoyed Jimmy Fallon's recent show with Dick Cavett - truly one of The Old Masters... but no one will ever top Johnny Carson for me. He was the best "listener" and an exquisite "reactor" -- some of his "takes" were sublime.

I don't watch any of the late night shows regularly - only if they have a guest that interests me -- I will definitely mark Hugh's appearance on my calendar. Thanks for the "Heads up!"

I used to only watch the talk shows when someone I liked was on it, but Craig even makes people I don't know enjoyable. So the DVR records every new episode. I still think Hugh would have a blast on there. Most of the chats go way off and you always here something new and unscripted. That is how Craig works. Okay, I'll shut up now. This isn't a Craig Ferguson forum. I just enjoy him soooooo much!
