Nancy,

That is some wonderful stuff about The Prestige!

My daughter and I have discussed it ad nauseum. This brings new understanding to us.

After all the discussion when the film first came out, I hope that everyone takes the time to read this. A lot of food for thought.

Thanks. You come up with great posts. Pat

Bumping up a *really* old thread with an interview I'd not seen before - Hugh and Christian "unscripted" talking about The Prestige, and more.

Part 1

Part 2

I remember seeing that interview with Christian and Hugh at the time. My favorite moment was-
CB: Who would win...
HJ: There it is!

LOL!

The question had to be asked.

Thanks!

Christian looks more animated than he ever did in most of his movies.

Hugh, as always, sounds like he has fun on or off-set!

Valerie, this is so funny. I actually believed that I had posted this last month because I downloaded it and made a YT playlist and the whole 9yards. It's a good thing you posted it so everyone can enjoy it since I apparently had a senior moment and forgot to post it! Frown Roll Eyes I do love the contrast of these 2 guys. I think it also highlights how Hugh brings out the best in everyone.

Observation: Everyone must really be missing Hugh since I've been noticing that a lot of people seem to be copying and uploading videos that were already on YT. I know this generally happens with trailers but it seems to be anything with Hugh lately, like we have to get our 'fix' or something. I must admit I understand the addiction completely.

I think that's the best interview I've ever seen Christian Bale give. He seemed to actually enjoy it. And Hugh was lovely as always. Thanks for posting it JH4HJ!

Speaking of THE PRESTIGE, I read about a new movie called MOON today. The sci-fi film stars Sam Rockwell and is directed by David Bowie's 38-year-old son, who changed his name from Zowie Bowie (wise move) to...Duncan Jones!

I'm wondering whether Duncan is a fan of the MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER series? Smile

Duncan Jones is actually is real name:

Duncan Zowie Heywood Jones

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1512910/bio

David Bowie changed his name from Jones in the 60's to distinguish himself from Davy Jones of the Monkees. Wink

Zowie Bowie is what Entertainment Weekly cited his name as. Perhaps it was referring to a nickname? Anyway, I thought that was a fun find.

I remember when he was born and David Bowie was on The Tonight Show and he gave his name as Zowie Bowie which is what he was called until he was older and went back to his real first and last name.

Resurrecting a very old thread --

Here's an interview with Piper Perabo (just the *good* part):

quote:
“When I’m working, I don’t go out,” Perabo said. “I’m really not all that fun.”

Perabo may not think she’s fun, but she sure is having some. Filming “The Prestige” with Hugh Jackman, she had an opportunity 90 percent of women in America would kill for.

The day they met, during the first scene they filmed, Perabo and Jackman were in bed together. Perabo explained that Jackman came from filming another scene where he put his head underwater.

“So his hair was all wet, and he’s got these suspenders on, and he’s like, ‘I don’t think I’m gonna have my shirt on in this scene.’” Perabo shrugged nonchalantly imitating Jackman. “I was like, ‘Okay.’ So he takes his shirt off.” Perabo paused and raised a suggestive brow.

“Because he’s doing reshoots for Wolverine he has the Wolverine body, and his suspenders are hanging down, and we’re trying to figure out what side of the bed we’re going to be on, and I’m like, ‘Are you gonna leave your suspenders on?’” Perabo smiled, already laughing at some joke. “He’s like, ‘Yeah. Yeah. Then you’ll have something, you know, to hold on to.’” Perabo’s mouth dropped open and eyes went wide. “I was like, ‘Oh my god! I can’t breathe!’” she screeched and jumped for a moment, then regained her composure and calmly said, “But of course all I said then was, ‘Okay.’”
