I always have the tickets ON HOLD at the box office whenever I buy theatre tickets.
This is the most convenient for me - I just carry a copy of the confirmation to present to the box office when I collect my tickets. Generally I don't even have to do this - I just present my card and I get the tickets pronto. If I cannot make the long trip or cannot go to the show for some reason, I can arrange to have it collected by somebody else via Customer Service. Telecharge is easier to talk to when it comes to issues like this. I had a long battle with Ticketmaster before they would allow a nephew ( with the same surname) to collect and use the tickets in my name. As for RAIN - I was paranoid enough to call Customer Service to request an emailed copy of the "sales order receipt" from Telecharge ( this is in addition to the email confirmation of my ticket orders). They sent them to me in less than 2 days. More signs of paranoia -- I checked my AMEX account online page until the charges showed up. LOL - I was never more glad to see my card charged instantly Jo This message has been edited. Last edited by: jo, |

From VARIETY
'Steady Rain' of sales Big advance ticket sales for Jackman, Craig play By GORDON COXMore Articles: Broadway play "A Steady Rain," toplined by Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman, is already looking like a rainmaker. Legiters have been buzzing that the play racked up a whopping $3 million in advance sales solely from the initial pre-sale offer for American Express cardholders -- even before ducats go on sale to the general public July 25. Pre-sale launched Saturday. A rep for the production wouldn't confirm any figures, but the big-league numbers come as no surprise given the anticipated B.O. draw of film stars Craig and Jackman. Initial tally for "Rain" looks likely to land the show in the top-selling range of other notable star-driven plays, including the 2006 Julia Roberts starrer "Three Days of Rain," which reportedly pulled in $7 million in one day of sales to the general public, and Billy Crystal's 2004 show "700 Sundays," said to have garnered an advance of $6 million. "Hamlet," the London import that stars Jude Law, was also said to have done well on the advance sales front last weekend, with that tally rumored to have come close to the $1 million mark. "Steady Rain," helmed by John Crowley, is set to begin perfs at the Schoenfeld Theater on Sept. 10 ahead of a Sept. 29 opening. This message has been edited. Last edited by: roselady, |

LOL - I guess we were both excited by the news, Roselady, as we must have posted the Variety report almost at the same time
That was the reason why the box office was so clogged - online or by phone I wonder if they can sell out before the previews even begin? Jo |

I chose regular mail since the AMEX card isn't mine and you would have to present the card at the box office.
The notice said four weeks. So I guess I'll be repeatedly checking my order status on Telecharge.com until they arrive at my friend's house. I have to admit it does raise the anxiety level. LOL!! I think I will be nervous until I'm plopped securely in my seat at the theater! |

that's exciting Jen! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Jen
Hmm... I still do not understand why Daniel should get top billing - he is a Broadway newbie and he has not really even appeared in a major West End production nor been cited for any theatre awards. Hugh is a TONY winner and a surefire box office draw on Broadway! But I find the marquee a little strange - why is DC's name not properly lighted or was that intentional - or was that your cellphone camera playing favorites - LOL! Jo |

I took it around 5:15 this evening so the lighting wasn't all that easy to see yet. It probably looks different when it's dark out. As far as the billing, it doesn't really matter to me (isn't one of the producers one of the James Bond producers as well?)...I'm excited to see both of them. |

Yay! This is on my desktop now!!! Thanks |

I thought I read that the tacit understanding was that the stars would be billed alphabetically. "C" comes before "J," so....
