Hi everyone!

As English isn't my mother tongue, is it correct when I understand that there is a limit of 8 tickets on one account?

So if I had 9 people going (me included) I'd have to wait one month to buy the last ticket?

But if I have 8 people going but one is unsure, I can order 7 today and the other one next week?

Or do I need to wait 30 days then too?

Sorry if I'm asking for the obvious, LMAO ! I'm thinking of going twice, I just bought my first ticket and now I want to buy my second without losing the first, as the policy seems to be verified quite strictly!

Hi Nouchka,

Welcome Smile

The best one to answer your questions would be CUSTOMER SERVICE of TELECHARGE ( I think there is an email-link on the home site of Telecharge). They are usually prompt with inquiries.

However, I can offer you, if you wish, my interpretation of the rules, based on your specific questions --

The new limit is 8 tickets per 30 days

Yes, if you are using only one name or credit card as purchaser. The problem with waiting another 30 days is availability of tickets - especially if that person wants to be seated close to your group. If there is someone with another credit card, why not ask if he/she can handle the 9th transaction

But if I have 8 people going but one is unsure, I can order 7 today and the other one next week?

I think your assumption is correct

Or do I need to wait 30 days then too?

No need as this still falls within the first 30 day-limit

Sorry if I'm asking for the obvious, LMAO ! I'm thinking of going twice, I just bought my first ticket and now I want to buy my second without losing the first, as the policy seems to be verified quite strictly!

Hope I have been of help. We have a thread on what the play is all about and you may want to skim through that, if you wish. Enjoy the play!

I don't know if the ticket info page of Telecharge ( see above) has not been fully updated, but when I checked performances for one Saturday in October, both matinee and evening performanes for premium seating were both priced at $351.50 ( effective cost of $ 361 with the ++)Eek. For the following Saturday, it was $ 296.50 ( effective of $ 306) and $ 326.50 (effective of $ 336) for matinee and evening, respectively. Confused.. Maybe there was a glitch in the system which accounts for the different date prices and maybe what accounts for difference in the stated prices on the ticket info page?

Check the prices that you are charged carefully before pressing the "BUY" button Smile

It looks like they implemented the upward pricing August 1, since I was still able to pick up an additional ticket the other day at the original price.

I wonder if this is why there seemed to be a limited supply of some tickets in the past?

Wow, that's a good $20 jump upwards for midweek matinees, such as the Oct. 1 matinee for which I already have an Orch Center Row A ticket. I still wonder why they scheduled a highly unusual Thursday matinee. My first thought was a benefit, but those are usually in the evening.

My second musing: I wonder how much HJ & DC are being paid? If they're doing it for a nominal salary just for the love of theater, then the producers are getting just a bit greedy.

maybe they added the Thursday Matinee to make up for the Thanksgiving day off on 11/26.

Thanksgiving week most shows have a Friday matinee instead. I don't know that for certain about ASR, but that's the usual procedure.

No usual Thanksgiving Friday matinee...and no shows for the rest of the weekend. Not usually the case for Broadway shows - as this is usually a busy weekend due to the influx of visitors to NYC. Hey, does this mean that "the two cops from Chicago" are not going to march at the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade Wink

Premium at $ 351.50 plus/plus ( or at $ 361)is only for Saturday matinees and evening performances.

For regular days ( except Wednesday matinees), it is at $ 296.50 ( or at $ 306) plus/plus, while they have increased Wednesday matinee prices to $ 196.50 ( or $ 206).

It looks like it is only Row C and Row K seats that have been newly released so far, for now.

EDIT: Please check my next post

Ah.. thanks Jo. I was pricing the first performance, which is also in high demand, I'm sure. And Row K was the first available in premium.

*BUT, during the first few days of previews ( September 10-13) all the newly-released rows for premium are all priced at $ 351.50 plus/plus Eek

It is a little confusing but it looks like that they are --

*Following a two-tier pricing for premium based on areas (e.g., orchestra center such as C commands a slightly higher price)

*The raised premium seating price are quoted differently for the period Sept 10-13 and for the period from September 15 - October 18 ( although October 9-11 follows a different pricing policy) and only for certain newly-released seats. The old pricing structure still operates but they refer to the rows that were available before the new rules were set up.

I guess one must be guided by these rules at the moment :

quote:
Premium Seat Price:
$276.50

Wednesday matinees; Thursday - October 1 @ 2pm:
$196.50

Saturday evening:
$301.50

Tuesday - Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays (for performances September 15 - October 18 (excluding performance October 9 - 11)): $296.50

Why am I getting the feeling that the marketing policy insofar as pricing is concerned seems to be following how airlines and hotels price their remaining available slots? When demand is very strong, price at the highest...and adjust pricing as the future dates come closer and as their forecast of demand becomes clearer!

Is buying tickets for a Broadway show always this confusing? I guess for people with unlimited funds it doesn't matter but for average people who aren't accustomed to buying tickets for shows, it sounds like a nightmare.

I just checked for premium tickets the night I'm going (Oct. 9) and they were 2 tickets, Center Orch, Row B for $351/ea. - ouch!

My seats are left Orch. and I wish they were center. I thought about buying these and re-selling mine. But, I don't know. Do you guys think I'll regret not sitting center???

Meredith,
I sat left orch for TBFO and Young Frankenstein and the view was fine. Now, granted, when I was center row B, the view was even finer, but $351 is way too much money for a 90 minute play even with Hugh in it!

Thanks Nancy. It's tempting but I know you're right. I'm sure I'll be fine in my current seats. I must say, if it was Houdini and Hugh was singing, strapped down over a tank of water I don't think any form of logic could stop me!

When the prices are raised even more, and the show sells out regardless, how far will/can they extend this "Limited Run"?
