Hi, Alicia! You would most likely be able to sell them on Stub Hub, which is a legitimate secondary market for concert, sports, and show tickets.

I think the link is www.stubhub.com

Hopefully, you won't have to, and you'll be able to come to NY!

Now that it seems the roles have been cast, it is interesting to re-read the various reviews of the original production in Chicago --

One critic calls the Denny portrayal a tour-de-force!

tickets can always be returned to the box office and they will sell them for you at face value. I had a couple of extra tickets for Jersey Boys (long story). I left them at the box office, they took my name and I went back at intermission to collect the monye. For South Pacific they just credited the cost back to my AMEX. Of course this maybe theatre dependent and you have to get to the theatre. ALl it cost me was the original booking fee. In both instances my friends got ill so couldnt come at the last minute and of course both shows were sell outs. Im guessing premium tickets will be avialable for at about $250 for weekend shows. The least expensive is usually the Wednesday Matinee.

A report from Bloomberg News --

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/...088&sid=a7Y7dz9odA80

Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman Will Play Chicago Cops on Broadway
Share | Email | Print | A A A

By Philip Boroff

July 9 (Bloomberg) -- Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig are the latest movie stars to capitalize on Broadway’s celebrity fixation. They’ll star in “A Steady Rain,” a Chicago police drama opening in September, the producers announced today.

Previews for Keith Huff’s two-character play begin Sept. 10 at the 1,079-seat Schoenfeld Theatre. Opening night is scheduled for Sept. 29.

Craig, 41, played James Bond in the two most recent 007 films and has extensive stage credits in London. “Rain” will mark his Broadway debut. Jackman, 40, who portrayed Wolverine in the “X-Men” franchise, last appeared on Broadway as Peter Allen in 2003’s “The Boy from Oz.”

Tickets go on sale Saturday at Telecharge.com to American Express cardholders, with others getting their first crack on July 25 -- if there are any left.

“I don’t think there will be a ticket available by the end of next week, and I’m being a little conservative,” said Scott Mallalieu, president of Group Sales Box Office, a Broadway ticket agency.

Mallalieu said the play, which won over critics when it opened in Chicago in 2007, will appeal to women and men.

“These are two very sexy men, and male theatergoers will be attracted by the fact that it’s a drama about two cops,” Mallalieu said.

Ticket Prices

Producers include Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who produced several Bond films. Tickets range from $66.50 to $301.50.

Broadway’s box office has increasingly relied on movie and TV stars in recent years.

Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd starred in the 2006 hit “Three Days of Rain.” Two of last season’s biggest successes also had recognizable names: “You’re Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush” starred Will Ferrell and “God of Carnage” featured Marcia Gay Harden, James Gandolfini, Hope Davis and Jeff Daniels.

“God of Carnage” is on hiatus and resumes Sept. 8 through Nov. 15.

It looks like Premium will be $ 301.50 ( plus charges) but I wonder if this is just for weekdays. Some plays now charge a different premium rate for Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays. Hopefully this is the weekend Premium rate and the weekday rate is cheaper!

Arrggh...the dreaded "P" word. What hath Mel Brooks wrought when he introduced premium sections (practically the entire orchestra!) for THE PRODUCERS?

Well, for repeat visits (I'm being optimistic), there's always the good ol' cancellation line, where they release unclaimed house seats. We hope.

In order to convince my mother to buy them for me, she wants me to get her as much information as possible, so I come to ya'll!

I know someone mentioned once that there is a hotel near the Schoenfeld theater that's not exactly cheap, but the best place for NYC newbies to stay so they don't get lost on their way to the theater. Does anyone know the name of the hotel so I can check room rates and stuff?

Also, it says the show times are Tuesdays at 7:00 PM and then Wednesday-Saturday at 8:00 PM: I'm going to be stupid and ask if the '-' means through or if it's just connecting that it's only on Wednesday and Saturday?

I really appreciate any help I can get. I have no idea what I'm jumping into, but I just know I have to see Hugh on stage.

Shows are as follows:

Tuesday - 7:00 pm
Wednesday - 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm
Thursday - 8:00 pm
Friday - 8:00 pm
Saturday - 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm
Sunday - 3:00 pm

Or a total of 8 performances a week.

It is going to be a bit of a madhouse when tickets go on sale - it might be useful to predetermine your ticket date(s) beforehand.

Is it wrong that I just checked flight sites to see whether a week in New York was even remotely do-able? **blush**

For you seasoned Broadway gals -
Do you prefer to go to the previews, opening night or both.

With such a limited run and tickets likely to run out quickly, which would you get if you had to choose?

I hope someone will be there Sept. 10 and report back. Since I will be a complete voyeur once again, I can't wait till I read a detailed account.

Ellen, and let's not forget that, besides the cancellation line, this theater accommodates for STANDING ROOM for sold-out performances. Wink

For large musical productions there can be a change between previews and regular performances but I wouldnt anticipate much change for this drama since the sets are likely to be very simple and the two guys so professional that I expect they will not need to adjust staging overly. Bottom line either will do. IMHO
I anticipate at least 1 preview performance and 1 regular (need to persuade the sig other that Christmas should be early) !
