I remember a wise man once said, "If you're gonna live, LIVE!"

In reality, I had a little luck at the casino a few weeks ago, and the money has been stashed for this occasion! Somebody is watching out for me!

I also can do it as a day trip. It's just a 90 minute train ride from Philadelphia, so no hotel or plane expenses, thank goodness!

Although I don't know why I am explaining! I've got many cost cutting measures going on in my life right now, like most people. You've gotta have faith!

I like your philosophy Diane. I also thought about Peter Allen's words before I splurged out on 2 tickets for 21 Oct, however the ticket prices were insignificant for me when you add a flight from Australia and accommodation in to the equation !! Oh well "If you're gonna live-live !! I've always wanted to go to Broadway and this prompted me to do something about it.

If I go ahead with this trip, it'd be great to meet anyone who happens to be in NY during the week 19 to 27 Oct. If I decide I can't afford it, I'm sure there'll be plenty of demand to buy back the tickets.

Cheers,

Barb

So far, thanks to a few of us with quick fingers, I've got several tix, including Dec. 6, and at least one is as far down as Row A Orch, right off the aisle. So I'm happy. Poor, but happy.

Yea, I was afraid to toss them back. I just went for it. I really don't mind being stage left as long as I'm fairly close. Plus, they were $130/seat instead of $279.

I'm soooooooo excited! dance

The Milford Plaza is a good place to stay?

Probably not -- I think they usually reserve the tickets for opening night for family and friends, and then, if there are any left over, put the remainder up for sale.

Congrats to all who have already gotten their tickets What an exercise in patience and serenity - LOLOL!

I am envious of those who will be there for the show's closing but I guess travelling to NYC twice in the span of 2 months is too much!

But I did get the seats that I generally wanted for several dates dance I have several Row A-center ( and it says that it is the first row by the stage, so I guess there is no Row AA?) -- so I will probably get a crick in the neck, but who cares Big Grin...In the meantime, I am now officially in financial recession after that one hour with Telecharge - LOL! At least Northwest/Delta Airlines has given me a free airline ticket to coincide with these dates!

September 29 tickets will most likely be by invitation Wink

I stayed there once--it was a small room (2 twin beds) but at least it was quiet.
And it's close to the theater.

Jo, the seating chart I printed off shows that there is a Row AA -- but maybe they will remove that row for this show?

You were able to get row A tickets online?

And darn... I'm not going to get to see you this trip?!

Kec,

Too bad that our dates with Hugh and Daniel do not coincide. But I also wanted to see the height of fall, hence, the dates I chose.

Yes, I was surprised when I saw the description of Row A ( they said that "it is the first row by the stage") - I actually bought my first set of tickets thinking that I was on second row, but when I went for my second/third sets, Row A was clearly described as "the first row by the stage" ( which I hope means Front Row)... Maybe the stage is a bit too high, hence the cancellation of a Row AA?...Unless they produce a Row AA for students tix - haha - maybe I will exchange my ticket with someone from such a row if that happens Big Grin... But I am hopeful that when they described the seats/rows as such in terms of location that they really meant it - because all other rows behind have the same reference point.

Maybe Hugh and Daniel will address me directly in their duologues - haha!

Jo

Meredith,

I've been doing the Mayfair Hotel on 49th street near 8th. The location is superb. The rooms are tiny but very cozy, and impeccably clean.

I have been keeping this little gem to myself -- it is usually quite a bit less than even the Milford Plaza, and a much better experience, in my opinion

Don't know the details yet, but this is what she said:

have to run out so can't write now- we are all set for friday the 23rd - long story of course - took almost two hours but got good seats through american express - not 130 but not 3oo either Smile but second row orchestra center - next choice was like row m on the sides so hope ok with you

I am not planning more than one trip across the continent for this play as I cannot imagine I will be as obsessed as last time: 3 cc trips, 6 performances including the last with several at scalper prices. I'm a realtor and was making money back then....not now!

Looking forward to spending time with my friend and visiting NYC again. Haven't been back since the final show.
