With everyone's indulgence, I'd like to revive a time-honored tradition here on the BFO Forum started by Pat...the Six Degrees of Hugh / Trivia Thread!!

This being Tonys season, I'd like to start this with one of the other Tony nominees...

Connect Hugh to Donna Murphy (Nominee, Leading Actress in a Musical for "Wonderful Town") in six steps or less. Smile

Hmmmm...let's see. Donna Murphy is in Spider Man 2 playing the wife of Alfred Molina's character, Dr. Octopus, and Alfred Molina has been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical along with Mr. Jackman! Could that be it, or are you looking for more of a movie-role six degrees kind of thing? Smile

I've got one for you, Lizzy. Connect Kate Beckinsdale to YKW, without VanHelsing in six or less.

Thanks for renewing this, Your Diva-ness!

Kate Beckinsale was in Pearl Harbor with Liv Tyler.

Liv was in Empire Records with Renee Zellweger.

Renee hosted the Costume Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that Hugh performed at recently.

Hey, you didn't make this easy, taking out the VH factor (which kept me from doing a Liv - David Wenham LOTR connection!!!)

Smile

Boy, the lengths you go to, Lizzy, but nope.

A movie co-star is the connection.

But Lizzy, there's still a LOTR connection:

Liv Taylor with Ian McKellan in LOTR
Ian with YKW in Xmen.

Ian McKellan IS the link, and it's one degree less: KB and IM in what movie?

Kate's first, originally for BBC-Tv, but released commercially in the States....

OH! I LOVE six degrees! Lemme play! Lemme play!

Alright, Hugh to Oprah Winfrey (and it must be movies/tv...and animated movies don't count - that's my friends' rules - otherwise Finding Nemo and Lion King make it too easy. For any celebrity.).

bumping this back to the top -- so, Lizzy, is this right? Moah, we want moah!!

While we're waiting for an answer, I'll post one:

There are two striking similarities between K&L and the film "My Favorite Year. Name the two similarities (one's a word usage, one's an action)

Hugs,
Kelly

Okay I'm back!!!! Thanks to LadyBert and Kelly for keeping this thread afloat. My mother is in town visiting me this week and I've been staying with her at a friend's hotel (with no Internet!!!!). I'll be returning to my house this evening so I'll be able to keep up on this thread...

That all being said, it is time for our next Six Degrees...

Total Film magazine recently listed the Favorite Movie Death Scenes of All Time and I'm not sure where my favorite lands, but I will make the star of it my next victim in this thread...

Connect Hugh to Alan Rickman in six steps or less!

(and a gold star to the first person who can guess the death scene I'm thinking of!!!)

Janet Leigh in Psycho! I'm right, aren't I? (I read it in today's paper. Wink )

Ok, Hugh to Alan Rickman...

Hugh worked with Alan Cumming in X-Men.
Alan worked with Missi Pyle in Josie and the Pussycats.
Missi worked with Alan Rickman in Galaxy Quest.

Edited to say: Oh, I misread your challenge. I thought you meant thte #1 death scene on the published list. I have no idea about an Alan R death scene...unless you know more about the Harry Potter films than you're letting on, and Snape may bite the dust?? Red Face

Hugh Jackman is married to Deb who directed Standing Room Only with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio who was in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with Alan Rickman.

All time fav death scene...Die Hard or RHPOT which is it Lizzy? I choose Die Hard cause he chewed way too much scenery in RHPOT.

Chris who is also a AR fan and loves January Man in which MEM was also with AR (I speaketh in tongues)

Not a death scene, but my fave AR film is Truly Madly Deeply -- what a fabulous love story!!

There's another connection through Standing Room Only connecting Hugh Jackman to Alan Rickman.

Hugh Jackman and Michael Gambon in Standing Room Only
Michael Gambon to Alan Rickman in Harry Potter, Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire (Gambon now plays Dumbledore)

I'm figuring it the Alan Rickman Die Hard Death scene but I'm with Kelly and Truly, Madly, Deeply-besides he's already dead and still very very sexy Wink!
