Even though I think he's one of the most beautiful and yes, sexiest men I've ever seen (as far as I'm concerned, he's James Dean reborn), I was hoping that People magazine wouldn't do this to him. Not yet. He's only been a star for a year and if they give it to him, the backlash is gonna be bad. At 23, he'd be the youngest to get it and alot would say...how the hell can you be the sexiest anything at only 23? Fair question. During a Q&A for New Moon promotion someone asked him how he feels about being considered one of the sexiest men in the world. His reply? "I'm only 23. I'm not even a man yet." But...People is in the business to move magazines and at the moment, Rob Pattinson is one of the most photographed, written about and recognized faces on the planet and that face...sells magazines and if they do this to him, he's just gonna have to ride it out. Problem here is, his fame has outdistanced his work. Is he a flash in the pan or is he here to stay? Who knows? If they do give it to him, hopefully he and Hugh can have some fun with it while filming UC. My choice (if Hugh couldn't repeat that is)? Jon Hamm of Mad Men. Oh my. Now that is one sexy man.

Going off to light a candle, chant a prayer and/or sacrifice a live chicken in the hope that People magazine will leave my boy alone and spare him this embarrassement. 'Cause if you know anything about Rob Pattinson, you'd know that something like this would make him want to crawl under a rock. Actually...this entire circus that has become his life, has him hunting for that rock.

Hang in there kiddo. In a few years, it'll all go away. He's knows it and is counting on it. He's said so more than once.

Just popped over to People's home page and they're going to announce it tomorrow. Great. If they do give it to Rob, it'll be just in time to see him bombarded with it on Letterman, Today and Regis this week. I'm still hoping they go with someone else but after looking at that homepage of theirs, my stomach has knotted a bit. There are nearly half a dozen links to stories about Rob/Twilight and I didn't see nothing on Ryan Reynolds.

Lately it's been said of Rob that putting his face on ANYTHING is license to print money and as I said earlier...that face sells magazines. His GQ cover this past spring was the bestseller of the year save one...Jennifer Anniston's and she was STARK NAKED and only outsold his by a measly 50,000 copies. And love or loath him, who do you honestly think is going to sell more mags, Robert Pattinson or Ryan Reynolds? And those clues they gave Jo? Everyone could apply to Rob too. Even the proposal one as he proposed to Kristen 5 times a day on the first film. Also...

Remember last year when People had that video called '100 sexy men in one minute' (or something like that)? I remember that Hugh's image was the last one they showed and sure enough, it's Rob's face that they've saved for last this time.

Yeah, he's not my cup of tea either, however, lots of others feel different. They will love him as SMA. Hugh enjoyed his run it seems, he certainly made a wonderful SMA.

It will be Rob. Just like Hugh was selected b/c he had a big movie out to promote, Rob is about to do the big publicity push for the next Twilight film. It's an obvious win-win.

Hopefully, if Rob wins it - it will be great publicity for UNBOUND CAPTIVES, too - and really help start the ball rolling for that filming schedule

The budget is getting bigger and bigger...or they have wrong information.
But as much as I am glad for a publicity, I hope they are not going to make RP the main star of the movie in articles and a promotion! This is Hugh´s and Rachel´s, RP´s role is supporting. I know, business but honestly? I think that a lots of "fans" are just Twilight fans who won´t go to see RP in another role...
And this really is a small role.

I think Hugh fans need not concern themselves about this movie.

A cryptic remark? Does that mean Hugh's dropping out of it? Or that his role remains the principal one to RP's minor role? I love a mystery.

I don't get it! If Hugh was on that final list as the "clues" indicated how could the winner be Depp? Hugh is 100 times sexier than him! I don't find him the least bit sexy. I know some people do but I suspect that more people find Hugh sexy compared to him.

Makes me re-think the whole People Mag SMA thing if he can win it twice. He's a good actor but...

Johnny's got Alice, that Terry Gilliam movie with Heath Ledger and the Rum Diaries...all being released in the next 6 months or so. Hugh is on Broadway with nothing due out this year. He needs to get back in the Hollywood circuit to get himself back on the cover. My opinion only.

I like Johnny Depp, but that is a terrible picture!!

That makes more sense now that I think about it! It does probably have more to do with their upcoming/current projects. People's never did strike me as considering Broadway part of the entertainment world, so I think you're right on the money with this one!

Woo Hoo!!! It wasn't Rob!!! See what sacrificing live chickens can getcha? (doin' the happy dance here ) Personally, I love Johnny although I do think it's a rather surprising choice this year. Although I have to wonder if Rob turned it down as I do believe they have that option (not absolutely sure about that). I mean, if you do get it, you have to participate; a photo shoot, an interview. Whatever. I'm just glad it passed him by. Much, much to soon for an actor just starting out, no matter how big he may be...at the moment. As for Unbound Captives...

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Rob's role expanded a bit (maybe develop Phin's relationship with Violet or something), but I cannot see them diminishing Hugh's role in order to give Rob more screen time. Tom is the center of the film, the heart of it. Hell, he narrates the damn thing. You sacrifice Tom's story for Phin's and you mess with the integrity of the story. I wouldn't worry 'bout Hugh getting his wings clipped here. As for Rob's appeal beyond Twilight...

The release of Remember Me in March should answer that question.

embarressment that would have surely been his (as he embarresses quite easily and at his young age, would have thought this the cheesiest thing ever. Come to think of it...it is a rather cheesy thing which is why the only thing the receipient can do...is laugh at it).
