I have opened up the old photo vault and posted a selection on "Photobucket" for your enjoyment. Peter came to National Panasonic's Head Office twice, as the major presenter of the brand, we wanted him to meet the people who made up the company. In 1981 he toured the showroom with the executives of the company, he then ventured down to the backyard where he performed using a grand piano to a selected number of staff and business associates of the company. The day was extremely hot with temperatures in the 90 degree range. After his brilliant concert, the Managing Director hosted Peter and Greg to lunch with a selected number of guests.

1982 saw Peter and his family being secretly bought via a schooner to the National "Ferry", for our Xmas Party. Peter was the special guest performer, he sang for twenty five minutes in front of a very appreciative audience. The highlight of the night occurred when he sang "Everything Old is New Again",with the staff in full voice, what a night!

Here is a brief description of the photos,
1/ Peter touring the showroom after meeting with the Managing Director and discussing his enormous popularity in OZ and the subsequent increase in brand recognition and sales for the company's products.
2/ Peter having just boarded the ferry that had been charted for our 1982 Xmas party.
3/ We all listen intently for 25 minutes as he treated us to mixture of his best known songs.Sing-a-longs were encouraged by him, much to the delight of the National staff members.
4/ Peter receiving a Xmas present from National Panasonic's Managing Director. Peter's Mother,Cousin, Sister, Greg and Dee Anthony were all presented with gifts.
5/Peter performing infront of staff and business associates of National in our backyard in 90 degree heat.
6/ Talking to the crowd about what he had been doing at the filming of some new commercials for the company.
7/ Greeting the staff and presenting some lucky members with signed autograph copies of his latest LP.
8/ This shot was taken after lunch with a relaxed group of retailers and National's executives.
9/ Peter, Greg, Victoria Nicholls(Nationals, TV presenter for Microwave ovens and small appliances). The MD had just received an autograph copy of Peter's Album that contained the song, "I Still Call Australia Home" that National owned for use in TV commercials long before Qantas would use it for their marketing campaigns.
10/ The M.D had just given Peter a present of a headphone radio/cassette player.
11/ The 80ft schooner is about to tie upto our ferry with Peter and his family along with staff from the advertising agency with sound gear for Peter to give an impromptu concert. No-one onboard knew what was going to happen except for one executive. The staff could not belief what was happening around them. it was a complete surprise.
12/ Inside the Technics Hi-Hi Showroom, with the Honey Diaphragm Disc Speakers unique to Technics.Peter hadn't seen anything like it before.
13/ The M.D greeting the guests of honor, Peter and Greg at the restaurant where we had lunch.
14/ A repeat of photo 9
15/ Here is the unique overhead car radio cassette player called "the Cockpit" being pointed out to Peter.
16/Inside the Hi-Fi showroom with some hi-tech components that would be good to use in Peter's home.
17/ Technics keyboard wizard, Dennis showing off how good the keyboard technology is with this new model.
18/ Peter with the executives showing off to him the vast arrange of products that the company sells.
19/ Dealers and staff enjoying lunch with "The Big Entertainer"
20/ Everybody seems to be having a good time with our "star".
